The Palm Trees Reflected In The Pond

The green represents a palm tree and the beige represents a tree trunk.
I am considering adding a little blue to express the fresh sky and pond in it.



The gold represents sunlight shines on palm tree leaves.

This is a piece of art created using the traditional Japanese braiding technique known as “砂子” (sunago). This method involves mixing one or two gold threads into every bundle of silk thread, which creates a design with depth as the gold threads glimmer and disappear.

I used six different shades of green silk, along with three shades of camel, fresh sky blue, and pond blue to create this unique pattern. Unlike a straight pattern, this design has a slightly wavy shape that resembles the vigorous growth of palm leaves. As a traditional Japanese pattern, it is believed to bring good luck and prosperity.
