Shogun Camera Strap / for Leica Q2 Dawn by Seal [One-of-a-kind item]

Shogun Camera Strap / for Leica Q2 Dawn by Seal [One-of-a-kind item]

For the "Leica Q2 Dawn by Seal", I was honored to receive a request for a special strap.

Since Leica Q2 Dawn by Seal is made of 西陣織/ Nishijin-ori obi for the body part,
I designed the strap that reveals a fine woven pattern.

It's a traditional Japanese braiding method called "砂子/ sunago", in which one or two gold threads are mixed into every bundle of silk thread.
The gold threads glimmer and disappear to create a design with depth.
I made it with thirteen colors of silk and gold threads.
This method of braiding is used for Japanese sword hilts, so it's much softer than other braiding patterns.

Inspired by the spirit of a Shogun (将軍), the top of Samurai, I braided this piece with strength, dignity, and elegance in mind.
Every thread is hand-dyed and hand-braided, carrying the essence of Japanese tradition into a modern form.
